Almonds
Number one on Dr. Joe’s list is biotin, since it plays a key role in keeping skin and hair healthy. An excellent, convenient source is something you probably already have in your pantry: Al-monds. One cup has about a third of your daily recommended intake.

Salmon
The secret to a healthy head of hair? A healthy scalp. “Salmon is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids which help nourish the hair follicles and keep them strong,” Dr. Joe says. It’s also a great source of vitamin D and protein - two major hair helpers on Joe’s list.

Yellow Peppers

Oranges may get all the praise for vitamin C, but did you know yellow peppers contain more than 5x as much? Snacking on peppers that contain a whole lot of the super antioxidant means stronger hair follicles and less breakage for your hair.

Eggs
“Protein plus omega-3s and biotin are the key here,” Dr. Joe says. Just make sure you’re not tossing the yolk, that’s where most of the good stuff lives. .

Spinach
Switch your salad to spinach: The leafy green is packed with vitamin E, key to enhancing blood flow to the scalp and follicles. It also is full of vitamin A, which Dr. Joe loves, to prevent hair from drying out at the scalp and breaking.
